Gussie’s Place, named after Gussie Moran, the “Anna Kournikova” of the 1940’s/50’s, is perfect for small families and groups traveling together. Mature landscaping gives this backyard ultimate privacy complete with a saltwater pool and spa, fire pit, covered al fresco dining, and mountain views. Want to venture out? OUTDOOR LIVING SPACES
The backyard of this property is the place to be, with its beautifully lit swimming pool and spillover spa, shaded lounge areas (both covered and open), outdoor shower, and inviting fire pit. Float in the pool or relax on the deck and look out at this home’s stunning mountain views.

There’s no shortage of entertainment here—those seeking a little exercise or competition will get hours of fun out of the covered outdoor rec area with ping pong table, cornhole set, yoga mats, and tennis gear. Feel like playing a game of tennis? Channel your inner Gussie and take advantage of the house’s tennis balls and racquets while playing on the neighborhood courts just a few blocks away at Ruth Hardy Park.

INDOOR LIVING SPACES
Enter into an open-concept great room that includes a skylit kitchen with marble waterfall island (you’ll find seating for 4 at the kitchen bar), gas range and oven, stainless steel French door refrigerator and dishwasher, and oversized farm-style apron sink. This area is convenient to the cozy dining nook with seating for 4. Take a glance around the room and you’ll notice art that highlights Palm Springs’ storied tennis history, including photographs of Gussie herself. This space also has a turntable and bar area: everything you need for setting any mood you desire.

The sunny living/lounge area boasts direct access to the backyard and pool, and is tastefully decorated in a style that is a nod to both mid-century modern and contemporary cool. This space has a flat-screen TV—perfect for movie night—as well as a pull out sofa, and a small office area for getting that bit of work or writing done.

** The term "Pets Allowed” or “Pets Accepted" at an ACME House Company vacation rental means that we welcome dogs only. No other pets are allowed. **

SLEEPING QUARTERS
This property sleeps 4 guests between 2 bedrooms. In the primary suite, find a king-size bed and flat-screen TV, backyard access via sliding doors, and a full en-suite bathroom with tiled walk-in shower. The 2nd bedroom, equally as bright and contemporary, has a queen size bed, flat-screen, and backyard access. This bedroom makes use of the full bath just outside its door, with tiled walk-in shower.

Located in the historic Movie Colony East neighborhood, this property is just blocks from the house Frank Sinatra called home in Palm Springs, a 13-minute walk or 3-minute drive to the tennis courts at Ruth Hardy Park, and just a few houses down from the Palm Springs Citywide bike loop. World-famous Palm Canyon Drive, home to excellent shopping, dining, and people-watching, is just a mile from the front door. And the casino, convention center, and world-class golf, tennis, and hiking trails are all within a short drive.

My friends and I did a quick girls trip to Palm Springs for my 40th and Gussies was the perfect spot! We walked to Cheeky’s for breakfast before the desert heat kicked in and then laid by the pool. Acme had a bottle of rose waiting for us upon arrival, which was wonderful and refreshing. And did I mention the beds are super comfortable? We will be back!

The location is fantastic, just a short walk or even shorter drive to downtown. The pool was perfect for two, and we appreciated the noise rules—nobody wants loud neighbors! The home was clean, modern yet cozy. They provided a QR code that housed everything we needed to know about the house. ACME was also fantastic from the moment we checked in, always available via text and even called to ensure our check-in was smooth. We’ve decided we won’t stay anywhere else when we visit from now on!

Exactly like it's described

This rental is exactly like it’s described and photos do it justice. There are some strict rules regarding noise based on a city ordinance for vacation rentals, but the neighborhood is so peaceful I didn’t feel the urge to disrupt. We went for relaxation, and the peace and total privacy provided that. The pool and spa are the star of the show, but the outdoor area is also full of places to lounge and fun outdoor games to play. The house itself also delivers on the chill vibe with fun decor and many areas to sit and watch TV, read a book, eat, or just chat with some drinks. The property management company, Acme, provided so much info beforehand and was super responsive throughout. They even provided a charcuterie plate and bottle of wine due to the grass being dead while we were there (which didn’t even bother us!). We didn’t want to leave and definitely plan to go back!

The property was just as described, great location, all the amenities you need and clean. It was perfect for my husband and I to relax and decompress. The neighborhood is quite. The beds and pillows were very comfortable, which isn't always the case with rental homes. It was like being in a hotel, but with the privacy and ability to enjoy it as your own. Management was very use to get in touch with prior to arrive. I'd rent this home again.

A daughter and a freind came down to celebrate mom's 70th birthday that had been planned for bit. We decided to continue with plans even though there was a hurricane forecasted. GUSSIE'S place was Ahmazing. Beautiful home with beautiful furniture and amenities. The support staff was there checking on us and at our service above and beyond. Overall, this is a fantastic property and ACME is a terrific host. We were in town for a friend's birthday weekend and were really happy with the space. Pros: Great location, fabulous open-plan kitchen, welcome kit with coffee, etc. and the pool/spa area really makes this property shine. Many shaded places to hang out, be in the sun, and a terrific pool/spa area. Cons: Bathrooms are guest sized; there is no primary bathroom. Operating the A/C unit is tricky: you have to set it on the A/C temp and leave it there, otherwise, it doesn't turn on (we initially toggled it back to the actual temp setting thinking it would kick in). It also appears to turn off after a period of time during the day - every day when we came home the house was sweltering. Finally, even with the A/C, in May, the lowest possible setting (74F) was too warm for us. The TV room will not accommodate 4 people. Overall: Terrific management co. and property, given cons re: temp would probably stay elsewhere next time.

We had a wonderful stay at Gussie’s Place! The house was just like it is described. We really enjoyed the backyard - very private and perfect for soaking up the Palm Springs sun! We had a lot of fun with the record player in the evenings and had some lovely dinners in. Both days we walked to nearby Ruth Hardy Park and our kids had a lot of fun on the playground. The house even had tennis racquets we could use at the park. We will definitely be back to stay at Gussie’s Place!
